Betsey Johnson Fashions, Dresses, Handbags, Shoes

We were quite taken when we were looking at spring and summer shoes with the offerings from Betsey Johnson. We just happened upon them and along with their style what we were even more taken with was the fact that they aren’t nearly as pricey as we thought they’d be. Of course we’ve heard about Bestsey Johnson and have seen her outrageous and quirky fashions in the past but we never paid much attention. However, this time she’s caught our eye with her truly bohemian style and originality.

These shoes, like all of Betsey Johnson’s fashions are fun, flirty, and sexy and perfect for free-spirits. It’s a theme that seems to run through her entire clothing and accessory line, girls just wanna have fun. We love these pumps of woven raffia and bright ribbons called “Jene”, the beautiful floral rose pattern on the “Abeni” pump, not to mention the embroidered florals on the pink “Jonila” flat. We think that our favorite shoe of Betsey Johnson’s collection is the gorgeous peep-toe sandal called “Jamison” with the flirty ankle tie and colorful floral embroidery. This is a flat out feminine shoe.

What about handbags? Betsey Johnson has quite a eclectic collection of purses to choose from. Whimsy abounds in this handbag collection. The first handbag is called the Heartbreaker satchel. It’s fashionable with it’s dual zipper pockets on the outside and embellished dual straps, perfect for work, or play. Our favorite bag in the Betsey Johnson collection has to be the next one from the Betseyville collection, the Lucky Gal satchel. Available in a variety of colors it’s the floral embroidery and pure fun of the colorful braided handle that we like. We also love the “kiss lock” closure. It reminds us of our play handbags from our childhood. We are featuring two other bags from her Betseyville collection, the denim satchel which has an embroidered logo and fanciful leather charms, and the Love Betsy tote is available in a red canvas.

Now to one of Betsey Johnson’s strengths – her dress collection. We were very surprised at the number of lovely Betsey Johnson prom dresses and formal dresses we saw during our search. Of course, all young and fresh and fun, and most importantly, wearable. We loved the soft colors of the flirty baby-doll dress called the Evening Martini Dress. The soft cap sleeved layered skirt offering we show second is called Orchid Eyelash. We thought this next dress was a perfect all occasion sundress, and Betsey Johnson calls this Caribbean stripe, and it’s shown in yellow/orchid. Our favorite dress in this collection though has to be the Bambi Tunic dress in multi. It’s a piece of art. It has kimono sleeves with trim, a tie at the empire waist and a flounce hem. It may be a bit short for some of us here, but we think it would be fantastic paired with slim jeans and/or leggings.
