We’ve been looking at the Fall (Autumn) 2009 Fashion Trends according to some of the hottest fashion designers and online fashion sites. We love some of the trends and think that they’ll work really well for most women. However, there are some fashion designs and trends that we think should be left well enough alone. As always, it’s for you to decide.
Over-the-knee-boots/thigh-high boots. Neither is for you if you’re looking to be able to wear them next season. This fashion trend will probably be gone very quickly. We think that younger fashionistas will be the one’s who will embrace this trend.
See through clothing. We wonder who’s really wearing see through clothing these days as we’ve never actually seen anyone wear it, oh, except on the runway, and maybe on the red carpet (think Katie Holmes). We think that smart fashionistas will leave this trend in the dust.
Ripped denim and ripped tights. What? Is it 1990 again? I just paid $15 for a pair of textured tights and $150 for these jeans….what do you think I am, NUTS?!?!? Enough said.
Menswear for women. We’ve always liked the look of masculine fashion for women. These clothes are tailored and classic. We like the military/equestrian look.
Chunky knits. These seem to be making a hit this year. We’ve never been a fan of anything “chunky” which translates into “bulky” which translates into making us look larger than we actually are. If you’re a 90 lb. fashion model it may look “OK” on you, but not on us. We’ll pass.
Here are a few more fashion trends for Fall 2009:
Color. Most designers from Kors to Ports 1961, DKNY, Jacobs and Narcisco Rodriguez are showing neon hot colors as well as jewel tones.
Slim Silhouettes. We have always loved leggins and tunics. Looks like this year that leggins and slim trousers are back. Look for great tunic tops and belts from designers like Nicole Miller, Lacoste, Nanette Lepore and Tibi.
Plaids, Tweeds, Checks. Always favorites for Fall fashion you’ll be seeing plenty of these Fall fabric staples in new colors and styles.
