7 for all Mankind Jeans & Citizens of Humanity Jeans

The most widely recognized wardrobe staple in the world is the denim jean. You see them on everyone, everywhere you go. You see them on the young and the old, the rich and the poor. No matter what way the fashion pendulum might swing denim jeans are always in fashion. There are 450 million pairs of jeans sold in the US yearly. Jeans have also become a status symbol. If you’re so inclined it’s easy to spend $600 to $1000 or more for a pair of jeans. We did see a pair of Evisu men’s “Limited edition” jeans for sale online for $970. Even more outrageous is APO jeans which offers mens and womens jeans with with silver buttons and rivets for $1000, 14 kt white or yellow gold buttons and rivets for $1500 and platinum buttons and rivets for $3250. If you want to add diamonds the cost starts at $4000. At least at that price these jeans come with an authenticity number and appraisal from a NY jeweler. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the most valuable jeans are a 155-year-old pair of Levis 501, bought by an anonymous bidder on eBay in 2005 for $60,000.

With 450 million pairs of jeans sold yearly in America you’d think finding one pair to fit us perfectly wouldn’t be such a hassle! Our relationship with our jeans is unlike any other we have with any other piece in our wardrobe. Even though jean designers come out year after year with new designs it’s our old favorites that generally win out. Luckily jeans really never go out over style, and, as they say “everything old is new again”, if you wait long enough they’ll come back into style. If we find a style that we like that fits us well we’ll buy 3 or 4 pairs.

We like the designs from 7 for all Mankind and Citizens of Humanity. Their prices fall somewhere within an “acceptable” range for jeans and their quality is outstanding. Needless to say we love the fact that they’ve added a bit of “stretch” which helps to make them really comfortable. We always look for a lighter wash and lighter weight denim jean for summertime.

For summertime we like the Citizens of Humanity Electric Guitar Ava Straight Leg, Topanga Wash, the Citizens of Humanity Collete Bootcut in Dark Madrid, and the 7 for all Mankind A pocket stretch Nakita jeans. We love the color and the cuts of these jeans.
